When you know, you know. A bond that can never be broken, a ritual that can never be replaced. It always comes through to save the day. Dry shampoo… it’s a must.

I would personally like to thank the person who invented dry shampoo. There is evidence to suggest that clay powder was used in Asia as early as the 15th-century. The first reference of dry shampoo in the United States dates back to the late 1700s, when starches were used to deodorize and alter the colour of wigs.

Today in 2018 we have a variety of brands, scents and formulations.

Although there are several, I’m going to work through what we carry for dry shampoo lovers.

From Oribe: Gold Lust dry shampoo

A luxurious efficient way to become instantly clean. This dry shampoo absorbs product build up, oil and impurities with translucent powders while soothing your scalp and restoring softness.

Shake well, spray 8-10 inches away from your scalp. Tousle with your fingers or brush it out until the product has been fully absorbed into your scalp.

A suggestion is to follow up with, Oribe’s Soft Dry Conditioning Spray to elevate your second day hair.

From Bumble and Bumble: Prêt à powder Très Invisible Dry shampoo

Nourishing: For dry and damaged hair, medium to thick, curly or wavy hair.

Original: For healthy, oil prone scalp, straight to wavy hair.

From R+Co: Death Valley

A dry shampoo that is in spray form. This is the quickest way to get volume into your second day hair.

Spray into roots, message in with fingers and watch as your hair is livened up.

Skyline:

A powder dry shampoo that refreshes your second day or post workout hair.

Shake gently and apply to roots, but not scalp. Press pump halfway for the perfect dose. Blend with fingers or with a brush and encourage texture.

Badlands:

One part dry shampoo and one part styling paste. Adds amazing texture and absorbs oil. Badlands has a matte finish and reworkable hold.

Rub small amount into fingertips and work into your second day hair. Or to damp hair and dried with a hair dryer for volume.

Dry shampoo can be customized to every hair type, texture and circumstance based on your personal needs. We can all relate to those moments when life gets hectic and the oils in your hair are weighing you down… literally. Find your solution to those moments by choosing the best dry shampoo for you.
